Interested in some excellent Fajitas!

After spending many hours hanging up Christmas lights it was time to shower and find some dinner.  My wife called to see what we were going to eat as she was also just finishing up with her errands.  Should we meet somewhere or bring something home was the question.  I didn’t feel like stopping off as I was grungy from the work so I suggested just to head home and we’ll decide later on.

Very tasty

I arrived home first and cleaned up pretty quickly.  Once she came in “how about Applebee’s or Outback?” I was okay with Applebee’s so I thought, then out of the blue I said “let’s go to Tres Amigo’s, the new restaurant we had take out last week with the girls”.  Sounded great to the both of us. The Restaurant is only minutes from our house which makes it convenient.

We arrived and were seated quickly by the hostess.  Our service was Veronica who came to the table with a smile and asked if we would like to order drinks as she placed the menu’s on the table  in front of us.  Within a few minutes we had our drinks as well as a platter of nacho’s and salsa.

We ordered the Albondigas soup and the Tres Amigos Fajitas.  The soup is made with Mexican meatballs with veggies of all types.  The bowl was to the brim and came out hot. The meatballs had a nice texture as well as a mild spice and herb flavor. The fajitas came with corn or flour tortillas and a combination of vegetables with steak, chicken and shrimp along with a slice of cheese melted on the top of the fajitas.  The platter also came with guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, beans, cheese and pico de Gallo  The flavor was very tasty. Everything was cooked in their special sauce giving the onions and peppers a robust flavor which was pleasant on the pallet bite after bite.  I ended up taking home a doggie bag which will give me two more fajitas for lunch after I do my work in the morning.

I

asked Veronica how long they have been open to which she replied about 5 months.  I then asked how many covers they did a night and she said if varies nightly but the lunch crowd is very good.  We talked about the design of the restaurant as it was cozy and warm with night mural paintings on the walls giving it a bit of flare that was not overly done. The design flowed well and the seating was arranged for 2 people up to about 18 at a long table to the right of the entrance. My wife and I sat and talked for about 20 minutes after we finished the dinner and paid the bill.  What impressed me the most was we were not herded in and rushed out.

Within a few minutes we had our drinks as well as a platter of nacho’s and salsa.”

After paying the bill Veronica and my wife talked again for a few minutes about the best selling items and the ingredients that give the dishes their flavor.  As we were getting up to leave we were asked how the meal was and were invited back to try some of their other plates.  Of course we told them “We will be back” and we will. With so many restaurants in Vegas we try to find small cozy, quiet restaurants with great food and great service, here we got both. Don’t be afraid to try them, I am sure you won’t be disappointed.
